Aston Martin Debuts V12 Zagato in Kuwait, Watch it on the Move

Almost a year after its presentation in concept form at the Concorso D’Eleganza at Villa D’Este , the production version of Aston Martin's new V12 Zagato made its world premiere today at the 2012 Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance before it heads over to the Geneva Salon in March for its European debut .

The new Aston Martin is essentially a re-skinned version of the V12 Vantage designed by Italian coachbuilder Zagato in celebration of the golden anniversary of the 1962 DB4GT Zagato.

There are plenty of reasons not to buy into Aston Martin's cover up of the Toyota iQ, but if you have already paid twice or perhaps even three times as much for a cooler grille and a luxed up interior and still aren’t happy about the way the Cygnet looks and sounds, Project Kahn has some select upgrades for you.

On the outside, the British tuner fits the Cygnet with its own alloy wheels that are available in various colors (size 17-in. up front and 18-in. at the back), a new set of brake calipers finished in heat resistant paint, again in whatever color the customer wants, and bespoke exhaust tail pipes.

Aston Martin has released the first official images of the final production version of its new limited run V12 Zagato that we first laid eyes on as a concept in both road going and racing flavors at last year's Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy.

The new V12 Zagato will make its world premiere at the 2012 Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance next week with its European debut to take place at the Geneva Salon in early March.

As the name suggest, it was designed as the ultimate Vantage by Italian coachbuilder Zagato to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its first partnership with Aston Martin, the 1962 DB4GT Zagato.

It's never a pleasant experience should your vehicle stall on a heavily trafficked public road with a lot of people watching, but we can't help but think that it has to be worse when it occurs to a €1.1+ million (US$1.3 million) Aston Martin One-77 that's capable of reaching a top speed of about 220mph (355 km/h).

And that is exactly what happened to one of the 77 owners of the exclusive Aston Martin model, not once, but more than a couple of times somewhere in France.

For the record, the One-77's 750bhp 7.3-liter V12 powerplant is linked to a six-speed automated manual gearbox with column-mounted paddles. Hop over the jump to check out the video.

We were expecting to see the final production version of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show but instead the British company turned one of the racing concepts into a road-spec show car to give an indication of what it would look like.

Now the time has come for Aston Martin to put the concepts aside and show the first finished customer car that will make its world premiere at the Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance from February 15 to 18.

In response to unprecedented customer demand, Aston Martin has confirmed that the V12 Vantage the most potent production sports car in the marques 96-year history will be made available in North America from later this year.

Under the hood is a massive 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS) and 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque. The company predicts a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of just 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h).

For comparison Aston's more mainstream V8 Vantage is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 which produces 420bhp and 470Nm of torque, enabling the car to run from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 180mph (288km/h).
